Brown Fused Alumina (BFA)
Brown Fused Alumina (BFA) is produced by fusion of calcined bauxite in an electric are furnace at temperature higher than 2050 ⁰C. Magnochrom supplies both Tilting furnace BFA and Higgins (Fixed) furnace BFA.
Brown Fused Alumina (BFA) has high resistance to mechanical wear and high abrasion and corrosion resistance, low thermal conductivity, and good thermal shock resistance. It is ideal for use in flow control and continuous casting applications of steel & other non-ferrous metal production. It is widely used for Sliding gates, Stoppers, Submerged entry nozzles, Precast functional shapes,
High alumina bricks and other refractory shapes, and Gunning materials, Moldable and Ramming Refractory Mixes, Castable, Monolithic, Mortars, etc.
